Rev. Dr. William “Bill” Eakin joined his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was an ordained minister, but his life calling was dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with young people in high schools and middle schools across America and around the world. He preached, taught, and mentored generations of followers of Jesus, and leaves a legacy of love and faithfulness.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 28, 1929 to Charles and Fara Eakin, He married Jeanne Nelson on August 6, 1949 and together they journeyed as partners in life and ministry on the staff of Youth for Christ for sixty-six years. Together they had four sons: David, who preceded Bill in death, Timothy (Donna), Paul (Jennifer), and Mark (Laura). They were also blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bill’s family will welcome friends to visit with them at Castleview Baptist Church on Thursday, March 3, from 5 – 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral service held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, with burial service to follow.
